B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan

B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan (born 1 August 1966 in Kolar, Karnataka, India) is a senior Indian politician and current Cabinet Minister in the Government of Karnataka. A seasoned legislator, he has been elected five times as a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, representing the Chamrajpet constituency since 2005.

Khan began his political journey with the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S) party) and emerged as a prominent leader when he won the Chamrajpet seat after the sitting MLA vacated it to become Governor of Maharashtra. During his tenure with JD(S), he served as Minister for Food & Civil Supplies and Minority Welfare in the coalition government led by H. D. Kumaraswamy.

In March 2018, Zameer Ahmed Khan, along with six other JD(S) legislators, joined the Indian National Congress, marking a significant shift in his political affiliation. Since then, he has continued to be a key Congress leader in Karnataka. Currently, he holds important portfolios in the Siddaramaiah-led state government, including Housing, Waqf, and Minority Welfare.
